State and Local Tax Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Orlando, United States; travel to assigned client locations is required, with reliable transportation required.

Compensation: $34–$40 per hour.

What you will do

• Support state and local tax services for existing clients.
• Complete tax planning and research assignments.
• Develop knowledge of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• Review client tax processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend enhancements to reduce tax exposure.
• Work with client IT personnel to obtain historical purchasing and sales data for reporting and audit procedures.
• Assist with evaluating and implementing sales/use tax software.

Requirements

• At least 90 completed credit hours.
• Currently pursuing a B.A. or B.S. degree, or equivalent, at an accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange reliable transportation.

Nice to have

• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
