Software Engineering Director (Healthcare)

Location: United States — work at home

Annual salary: USD 170,500–284,100, depending on experience and geographic location. Eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead and support multiple engineering teams delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Translate product and business strategy into engineering plans, milestones, and technical roadmaps.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and ways of working across teams.
• Partner with Product Management and Architecture to design secure, resilient systems that scale with the business.
• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers while supporting hiring, onboarding, and performance development.
• Champion agile delivery, automation, and modern tooling while ensuring performance, security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of managers and senior engineers.
• Experience leading teams across the full software lifecycle in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Strong understanding of modern application development, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving.
• Clear, confident communication with technical and non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with Go, React, React Native, .NET, and integrated platforms.
• Experience leading growth, transformation, or system modernization initiatives.
