Industrial Security Specialist | Security Specialist | Facility Security Officer (FSO)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California

Salary: $105,000–$120,000 per year, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

• Prepare and submit facility clearance sponsorship packages through NISS, including DD Form 254 and Statement of Work documentation.
• Coordinate with DCSA throughout facility clearance review and adjudication.
• Advise and onboard commercial Facility Security Officers on NISPOM, KMP requirements, clearance processes, and compliance responsibilities.
• Support contractor registration and submissions in NISS, NBIS, and e-APP.
• Review ownership structures for FOCI concerns and advise on reporting and mitigation requirements.
• Track clearance milestones, KMP progress, risks, processing timelines, and projected cleared-to-work dates.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of related industrial security experience.
• Extensive experience with DCSA Facility Clearance Branch processes and initial facility clearance sponsorship.
• Expert knowledge of NISPOM requirements, facility clearances, KMP designations, FOCI reporting, and SF-328.
• Advanced proficiency with NISS, DISS, NBIS, and e-APP.
• US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility are required, with the ability to maintain the clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in security management, business administration, government, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Nice to have

• CDSE FSO Program Management curriculum for possessing or non-possessing facilities.
• SPeD Industrial Security Oversight Certification or other industrial/personnel security certifications.
• Experience supporting GCAs, defense contractors, or federal security programs.
