Quality Control Inspector I (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Perform visual inspections of incoming parts, in-process production, and final products.
• Identify structural flaws, internal defects, missing welds, and other nonconformities.
• Record inspection results, observations, and process-improvement recommendations.
• Accept, reject, or request rework for defective or malfunctioning units.
• Maintain and update receiving, in-process, and final inspection standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with production staff, use inspection equipment, support calibration, and discuss quality issues in team meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 year of experience as a Quality Assurance Inspector I in a manufacturing quality environment and at least 1 year of mechanical inspection experience.
• Proficiency with basic hand measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
• Ability to use higher-precision measuring instruments or nondestructive evaluation equipment when required by the site.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with production teams.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with IPC 610, IPC 620, J-STD-001, ISO 9000, or AS 9100 standards.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, drawings, and GD&T.
• Experience with receiving and finished-goods inspections, Manufacturing Execution Systems, work instructions, or SOPs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required by the site.
