Cost Analyst/Financial Management - Subject Matter Expert (FM4)

Location: Daily on-site work in a customer SCIF in Chantilly, Virginia; U.S. citizenship required.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

• Lead cost support for the Space Systems Command SBST mission area alongside program control staff.
• Interface securely with Space Force project officers, U.S. government partners, and commercial vendors.
• Direct cost modeling and launch vehicle quick-reaction scenario studies.
• Develop, oversee, and maintain estimation tools, databases, and systems to improve accuracy and reduce development time.
• Contribute to independent cost estimates, data analysis, performance visualization, and acquisition strategy evaluations.
• Create advanced cost-estimating relationships using modeling and data analysis, and mentor junior analysts and program managers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required; a bachelor’s degree, preferably in mathematics, engineering, or the sciences, is also required.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Expert experience in cost estimating, program management, contract negotiations, and technical reviews for military systems.
• Extensive knowledge of DoD budgetary principles, acquisition regulations, policies, procedures, APB development, and program management plans.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong operational judgment.
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

• Leadership experience directing strategic cost estimates for major defense acquisition programs.
