Cost Analyst (w/Risk Focus)

Salary: $90,000–$125,000 per year ($43–$60 per hour)

What you will do

• Collect and validate cost and risk data from contractors, designers, consultants, and program teams.
• Analyze cost drivers, escalation trends, market conditions, and emerging budget risks.
• Develop cost models, scenario analyses, and probabilistic risk outputs using established methodologies.
• Integrate risk analysis into cost estimates, forecasts, and contingency positions.
• Track mitigation actions and maintain the program risk register and auditable cost documentation.
• Evaluate risk submittals and prepare reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for program leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in risk, cost, or project support on large, complex projects exceeding $500 million in passenger transit or transportation infrastructure.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, cost modeling, scenario analysis, mitigation strategies, risk registers, and cost forecasts.
• Experience collaborating with project controls, estimating, and scheduling teams.
• Familiarity with risk and cost management tools such as @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, Deltek Acumen, Safran Risk, or Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or business.
• Active CCP, PSP, PMP, or CCM certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other KPI dashboard reporting software.
