What you will do
- Own planning for the Walmart wholesale account, identifying inventory opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, and sales.
- Create and maintain monthly production forecasts and retail sales ladder plans for replenishment and seasonal fashion programs.
- Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities, then recommend corrective actions.
- Present scenario-based strategies and hindsight to sales, merchandising, and planning leadership.
- Partner with supply chain on product allocations, service challenges, item setup issues, fulfillment escalations, and planning-system improvements.
- Mentor analysts and associate planners on planning processes and standards.
Requirements
- 4+ years of merchandise or financial planning experience in retail or wholesale.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and large data sets.
- Experience building and maintaining forecasts and retail ladder plans.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.
- BS or BA degree, or equivalent practical planning experience.
Nice to have
- Planning experience for a mass retailer such as Walmart or Target.
- Familiarity with Anaplan, Blue Yonder, or similar planning systems and retail reporting tools.
- Experience in apparel or children's retail.
- Interest in mentoring analysts and associate planners.
