Consultant, Leave of Absence Case Manager

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $57,900–$95,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage leave of absence cases and advise employees and managers on eligibility, provisions, and case-related questions.
• Collaborate with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, Legal Services, Benefits, Workers Compensation, and other functional teams on complex leave matters.
• Review medical documentation and determine approval periods for family medical leave requests.
• Prepare eligibility and determination notices and complete accurate US and international leave reports.
• Perform daily leave and payroll audits, complex leave and pay calculations, billing, and employment verification activities.
• Maintain international process documentation, support training, and recommend process improvements and cost-saving measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of benefits, leave of absence, or case management experience, including communicating benefits plan details to employees.
• Three or more years of benefits or leave of absence experience preferred based on the ideal-candidate profile.
• Experience managing leaves of absence and using benefits administration software and Workday.
• Understanding of complex payroll calculations and how system interactions affect pay.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, prioritization, confidentiality, and multitasking skills; proficiency with Excel, Word, and related software.
