Aerospace Engineer

Location: Washington, DC — Naval Research Laboratory; U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required.

Salary: $100,000–$133,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Annual performance bonus and potential equity or incentive compensation may also be available.

Technology Service Corporation provides engineering support for high-priority Navy missions at the Naval Research Laboratory.

What you will do

• Conduct advanced computational fluid dynamics simulations across a wide range of flight regimes.
• Characterize aerodynamic loads and aerothermal environments.
• Develop and apply trajectory modeling tools.
• Integrate aerodynamic predictions into six-degree-of-freedom models.
• Apply simulation-based design methods using CFD tools and CAD software.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to solve technical problems and communicate results.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required; TS/SCI is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis is preferred.
• Working knowledge of CFD tools such as Star-CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
• Experience with trajectory modeling and integrating aerodynamic predictions into 6-DOF models.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
• Strong proficiency with data analysis tools, including MATLAB, plus communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
