Terminals Tankerman (Petroleum)

Location: Kenova, West Virginia, United States. Onsite shore-based terminal work in all weather conditions, during day and night on rotating 12-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Conduct loading and unloading transfers of petroleum products from barges according to company procedures and USCG regulations.
• Troubleshoot barges and perform minor barge maintenance.
• Operate heaters on hot oil barges and support all phases of barge transfers.
• Gauge, sample, and conduct laboratory testing of petroleum products.
• Prepare terminal reports, maintain records, and document transfer times.
• Work outdoors, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds independently or 100 pounds with assistance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Obtain and maintain a valid Merchant Mariner Credential with Tankerman PIC within six months of hire.
• Qualify for and maintain a valid TWIC card.
• Learn basic computer skills and accurately perform arithmetic and record-keeping tasks.
• Learn mechanical and electrical systems.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or vocational technical training.
• Previous river industry experience as a tank barge worker.
• Previous petroleum industry experience.
