TL;DR
Equipment and Controls Technician (Gas Pipelines): Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and process-control equipment at pipeline and compressor facilities with an accent on automation systems, power distribution, and equipment diagnostics. Focus on advanced engine, compressor, and pump testing, grounding systems, security systems, emergency callouts, and maintaining safe operations across Georgia and Florida stations.

Location: Onsite at Hilliard, Lake City, or Jacksonville, Florida, or Riceboro, Brookman, or Rincon, Georgia. Regular travel across the South Georgia/North Florida system, occasional overnight travel, on-call response within 45 minutes, and possible shift work are required.

What you will do

  • Install, inspect, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and control equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, compressors, drivers, auxiliary equipment, switchgear, and power-distribution systems.
  • Conduct inspection and maintenance checks on control systems and perform advanced engine, compressor, and pump analytical testing.
  • Install, analyze, and repair security and intrusion systems, facility grounding systems, and related equipment.
  • Identify and correct safety and environmental concerns while following company, regulatory, and tariff requirements.
  • Oversee third-party construction and maintenance activities and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Two-year associate degree in related technical training or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, process controls, gas-processing fundamentals, and electrical circuit drawings.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and use voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test instruments.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; a commercial driver's license may be required.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies within 45 minutes, travel between assigned facilities, work overtime, and work in extreme weather, confined spaces, elevated areas, and low-lit environments.
  • Successful candidates must pass a drug screen and complete a background check before employment.

Nice to have

  • Five years of experience operating and maintaining treating plants and compressors.
  • Experience with flammable gases, liquids, high-pressure systems, pumps, reciprocating engines, gas turbine engines, or Solar Turbines equipment.
  • Knowledge of Wonderware, Maximo, IMPACT, LMS, and related operational software.
