Principal Enterprise Architect (AI)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona; four days onsite in a hybrid schedule at the North Scottsdale office. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Own enterprise architecture strategy across platforms, business capabilities, and technology domains.
• Define and govern architecture standards, reference architectures, integration patterns, API strategies, cloud service patterns, and enterprise guardrails.
• Lead adoption planning for cloud modernization, platform engineering, developer enablement, data-driven decision-making, generative AI, intelligent agents, and automation.
• Establish architecture patterns and guardrails for AI-enabled systems, enterprise AI platforms, and intelligent automation.
• Assess current and future-state architectures and define modernization, platform growth, AI adoption, and capability-maturity roadmaps.
• Drive proofs of concept, architectural prototypes, technology assessments, tradeoff analysis, architecture reviews, and strategic stakeholder decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in software development, information systems, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or a related technical environment.
• Experience designing enterprise-class distributed systems, cloud platforms, API-based architectures, messaging patterns, and application boundaries.
• Experience defining architecture strategy, standards, roadmaps, governance frameworks, and reference architectures across cloud, data, integration, application, platform engineering, modernization, and AI domains.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure, plus technical depth across APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, Kafka or JMS, databases, CI/CD, version control, performance tuning, and cloud deployment patterns.
• Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, collaboration, influence without authority, problem-solving, and judgment in ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI, Google AI, or similar enterprise AI technologies.
