What you will do

• Own the cross-enterprise architectural view and define a multi-year target-state architecture across commerce, stores, supply chain, customer care, corporate, and data/AI.
• Lead platform harmonization across Signet’s brands, consolidate duplicative systems, reduce technical debt, and integrate Blue Nile and future acquisitions.
• Establish enterprise architecture standards, reference patterns, architecture decision records, and lightweight governance for major initiatives.
• Provide hands-on architecture leadership for high-impact initiatives such as commerce modernization, CMS, order management, and customer data platforms.
• Design safe and scalable AI-native and agentic engineering patterns, including orchestration, MCP-based integration, and guardrails.
• Partner with executives and mentor domain architects while anchoring architecture decisions in customer outcomes, economics, and total cost of ownership.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive technology experience, including experience as a Chief or Principal Architect, VP of Engineering, or CTO in a large-scale retail or e-commerce enterprise.
• Practitioner architecture experience designing and shipping production systems alongside engineering teams.
• Proven ownership of cross-portfolio architecture, platform consolidation, brand harmonization, and simplification at scale.
• Deep knowledge of cloud, integration, event-driven, headless, and composable MACH architecture, with hands-on fluency in a major cloud serverless ecosystem such as AWS.
• Experience with durable architecture artifacts such as capability maps, C4 diagrams, and ADRs, plus strong financial fluency and influence in matrixed environments without reporting authority.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a technical master’s degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• Specialty retail or jewelry experience and multinational e-commerce or omnichannel operations.
• Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud, IBM Sterling, Fluent, Manhattan OMS, headless CMS platforms, or Oracle Xstore.
• Experience with real-time CDPs, Salesforce Sales or Service Cloud, permissioned distributed ledgers, or high-volume external APIs.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, C4, or ArchiMate.
