Heavy Highway Craft Apprentice

Location: Burnsville, Minnesota; based out of the Central Area Office with travel to project sites within the United States.

Salary: $24–$45 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and knowledge.

What you will do

• Participate in hands-on apprenticeship training for heavy civil construction projects.
• Develop skills in heavy equipment operation, truck driving, concrete carpentry, pipefitting, millwright work, and general labor.
• Work on active highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure sites.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work non-traditional hours as needed to support project schedules and travel to project sites.

Requirements

• Interest in pursuing a career in heavy civil construction and willingness to learn from supervisors and experienced team members.
• Commitment to OSHA, company, site-specific safety requirements, and mandatory use of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and varying site conditions.
• Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, trenches, around moving machinery, traffic, and other construction hazards.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites; a valid driver’s license may be required depending on the role.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to safely use or learn to use hand and power tools.
