HDD Apprentice

Location: Milton, Florida, United States; onsite field work in outdoor environments and near moving equipment, excavations, and underground utility infrastructure.

Salary: $22.00–$31.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

What you will do

• Assist horizontal directional drilling crews with daily construction activities and job-site setup and breakdown.
• Clean, grease, fuel, inspect, and maintain drilling equipment, support vehicles, tools, and work areas.
• Load and unload tools, conduit, pipe, and construction materials.
• Dig entry pits, exit pits, and potholes and assist with utility exposure and verification.
• Perform restoration work, including grading, backfill, and cleanup.
• Attend safety meetings and training while developing skills in HDD operations, locating procedures, and utility installation.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, carry, and climb frequently, including moving up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
• Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to wear required PPE and work safely near moving equipment, excavations, and underground utilities.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; construction or utility experience is not required.

• CDL permit.
• OSHA 10 certification.
