TL;DR
VP, HR Community Hospitals (Healthcare HR): Leading strategic and operational human resources programs across Tufts Medicine’s community hospitals with an accent on workforce planning, organizational development, employee and labor relations, and leadership capability. Focus on driving cultural transformation, workforce integration, organizational restructuring, and data-informed HR strategy across a complex healthcare system.

Location: hirify.global community hospitals in Lowell, Melrose, and Medford, Massachusetts; professional office environment with predominantly sedentary, on-site work.

Salary: $275,000–$325,000 annually, plus eligibility for an executive incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Provide executive HR leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day oversight for community hospital HR operations.
  • Advise hospital presidents and senior operational and clinical leaders on human capital strategy and organizational planning.
  • Lead HR business partner activities and coordinate employee relations, labor relations, and leave administration.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence on talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
  • Drive engagement, belonging, leadership development, succession planning, organizational design, and change management.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, due diligence, workforce integration, and cultural alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including five years in a senior HR leadership role within a community hospital or complex health system.
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation, cultural change, mergers and acquisitions, or system integration.
  • Executive presence and strong communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, business, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with matrixed organizations, workforce analytics, organizational restructuring, and leadership development.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and collective bargaining agreements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR.
  • Experience working in unionized environments.
