Controls Engineer - 3rd Shift (PLC/Automation)

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States. Onsite plant role requiring availability for the 3rd shift, generally 8:30 pm–5:00 am EST, with start and end times varying based on overtime needs.

Pay range: $68,600.00–$109,200.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, modify, test, and maintain process control systems for automated equipment and machinery.
• Write and troubleshoot PLC software, safety systems, HMI packages, SCADA systems, and PC networking technology.
• Resolve production equipment issues to maintain uptime, throughput, line fill rates, and customer service objectives.
• Lead projects that reduce investment costs and improve facility efficiency, energy use, reliability, and safety.
• Develop technical training documentation for plant assets and provide technical support across facility processes.
• Analyze test-equipment data, benchmark automation activities, and implement continuous improvement solutions.

Requirements

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Internship or co-op experience focused on controls or software development.
• Availability to work required 3rd shift hours.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, including Structured Text, Function Blocks, Drives, and PID/PIDE controls.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and robotic maintenance and troubleshooting, preferably with Fanuc robots.
• Course project experience with control systems, sensors, and actuators.
