What you will do

  • Identify, remove, categorize, and document internal hardware components, subassemblies, cabling, connectors, and configurations.
  • Analyze system architecture, interconnects, signal paths, and functional hardware blocks.
  • Develop bills of materials, parts lists, component specifications, and engineering documentation aligned with NSWC Crane and Navy requirements.
  • Design and write hardware test procedures for system evaluation, functional testing, and component verification.
  • Support acceptance test plans, diagnostic processes, troubleshooting workflows, repair recommendations, and lifecycle support activities.
  • Participate in failure analysis, root-cause investigations, technical meetings, design reviews, and discussions with government stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, with 0+ years of related experience including internships or co-ops; alternatively, a master’s degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
  • Strong hands-on, hardware-first engineering approach and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and schematic interpretation.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing power electronics systems.
  • Experience developing and validating troubleshooting and repair procedures.
  • Experience conducting hazard analysis for high-voltage work environments.
  • Experience with silicone and epoxy-based high-voltage encapsulation materials.
