NERC Standard Manager Lead (NERC Compliance): Supporting electric utility business units with NERC audit readiness, compliance implementation, incident investigations, mitigation plans, and regulatory responses with an accent on CIP and O&P standards, controls, and evidence management. Focus on identifying compliance risks, improving processes, coordinating complex standards across business units, and representing program needs with external stakeholders.

Salary: $136,539–$177,503 per year

What you will do

  • Support business units in becoming audit-ready and improving compliance with NERC requirements.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and training across NERC audit readiness services.
  • Investigate potential compliance incidents, identify root causes and risks, and draft language for regulator review.
  • Develop and monitor mitigation plans, including milestones, preventive efforts, and completion evidence.
  • Lead implementation of new and revised NERC standards with business unit leadership.
  • Support RSAW development, gap analyses, controls, evidence collection, and responses to regulator RFIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, communications, computer science, business, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in the electric utility or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Hands-on experience with business unit systems and processes.
  • Ability to manage complex and high-risk CIP and O&P standards and understand how NERC standards relate to regional entities and RTOs.
  • Ability to drive consensus across business units and communicate compliance opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Experience in NERC or similar regulatory compliance is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • NERC, PMP, PE, or similar certification or license.
  • Experience with NERC standards development.
  • Experience representing organizational needs with external stakeholders.
