TL;DR
Prin Compliance Specialist - PHI Compliance (NERC Regulatory Compliance): Ensuring compliance with NERC, Reliability First, and state regulatory requirements through self-assessments, mitigation plans, audits, and reporting with an accent on regulatory analysis, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement. Focus on designing compliance assessments, managing reliability-standard impacts across business units, and presenting Exelon policies and positions to regulatory bodies and industry forums.

Location: Hybrid role in Newark, Delaware, United States

Annual salary: $107,200–$147,400, plus an eligible 20% annual bonus.

What you will do

  • Ensure compliance with NERC, Reliability First, state public utility commissions, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and improve compliance processes, procedures, assessments, reviews, and reports.
  • Oversee mitigation plans, corrective actions, action tracking, and quarterly updates following self-reports and investigations.
  • Design and perform audits in preparation for external regulatory reviews.
  • Partner with business units, legal, governmental affairs, HR, operations, and external stakeholders on regulatory commitments.
  • Represent company interests in regulatory decision-making meetings, industry forums, and workgroups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field with 7–10 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant experience without a bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant experience may include electric utility rates, regulatory, legal, transmission planning, operations, or financial disciplines.
  • Knowledge of FERC, NERC, state regulations, statutory provisions, and the CIP standards family.
  • Understanding of NERC and Regional Reliability Organization policies, structures, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of PHI change management and firmware update requirements, plus familiarity with hirify.global’s CRT investigation and corrective-action tracking processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, consensus-building, business judgment, and complex problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering, MBA, or law degree.
  • Management or team-lead experience.
