Director of Regulatory & Compliance

Location: Onsite Monday through Friday in Pico Rivera, California, United States. No remote work available.

Salary: $125,000–$140,000 annual salary (exempt).

What you will do

• Lead regulatory compliance across hirify.global’s consumer product portfolio and maintain internal compliance policies, controls, reporting frameworks, and calendars.
• Oversee product certifications and Multiple Listings with UL, Intertek, and other recognized testing and certification bodies.
• Ensure compliant product labeling, packaging, documentation, hazard assessments, and responses to recalls, field issues, and regulatory inquiries.
• Manage U.S. and international environmental compliance, including WEEE, RoHS, REACH, Proposition 65, battery EPR, packaging EPR, and state-specific producer obligations.
• Support trade compliance through HTS classification, customs documentation, and coordination with sourcing and logistics partners.
• Represent hirify.global with trade associations and regulatory agencies, lead cross-functional compliance initiatives, and manage audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in engineering, regulatory affairs, legal studies, environmental policy, or a related field is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive regulatory compliance experience with consumer electronics, lighting, or safety-related products.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. and international standards, including UL 217, UL 1598, FCC Part 15/18, DOE, and ENERGY STAR.
• Proven experience managing Multiple Listings with UL, Intertek, or similar certification bodies.
• Hands-on experience with battery and packaging EPR programs, producer registration, stewardship organizations, fee remittance, and multi-state compliance tracking.
• Strong cross-functional leadership, project management, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Call2Recycle and emerging U.S. EPR legislation.
• Experience engaging with trade associations such as NEMA or regulatory agencies.
• RAC, CRCM, or equivalent professional certification.
