Manager, Quality Innovation (Food Science)

Location: Glenview, Illinois, United States; field-based role requiring frequent travel to customer locations, stores, and manufacturing facilities. Travel is required 40–55% of the year, and the candidate must be located near a major airport, drive independently, and fly commercially.

Base salary: $104,200–$130,200 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Support quality-by-design strategies for new food products and processes.
• Lead quality activities for category portfolio initiatives and ensure pre- and post-launch success.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to maintain quality and food safety standards.
• Conduct quality risk assessments and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Develop quality metrics and KPIs to support continuous improvement.
• Support quality training programs and participate in audits and compliance assessments.

Requirements

• Master of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in quality or R&D, with at least 1 year of commercialization experience at hirify.global or in the CPG food industry.
• Experience with quality systems and processes such as ISO and Six Sigma.
• Strong communication, organization, project management, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.
• Availability for first-shift work with flexibility based on plant requirements and frequent travel.

Nice to have

• PCQI certification.
• Better Process Control School certification.
• Knowledge of DMAIC, DFSS, Lean, metrology, MSA, sampling procedures, and fundamental statistics.
• Experience with project management and collaboration across functional teams.
