Quality Food Safety (QFS) Department Leader

Salary: $106,600–$138,600 annually

What you will do

• Lead quality and food safety systems within the bakery department.
• Manage department budgets and contribute to capital investment decisions.
• Develop Team Leaders and associates through onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives across bakery operations.
• Monitor performance across people, quality, safety, service, and cost KPIs.
• Investigate quality failures, food safety incidents, consumer complaints, regulatory inspections, and vendor-related issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience may be substituted.
• 5–7 years of bakery or food manufacturing operations management experience, including 3 years in food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance.
• PCQI, HACCP, Food Defense, and GFSI certification, including standards such as SQF, BRC, or IFS.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations, Six Sigma, ISO, AIB, and GFSI standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
