Network Control Technician

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite in a secured control center with rotating shifts

What you will do

• Monitor and maintain the integrity and availability of the nationwide telecommunications network.
• Use SolarWinds, Zabbix, Cisco, Juniper, and related hardware and software tools to identify and resolve network issues.
• Perform complex testing and analysis across data, voice, video, SCADA, microwave, MPLS, VSAT, and other network systems.
• Document incidents and troubleshooting activities in the ticketing system.
• Coordinate directly with customers, vendors, field technicians, and internal and external network engineers.
• Support smooth shift handovers and continuous improvement of network operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in network operations or telecommunications, including telecommunications and data-network troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of data, voice, video, and SCADA network components.
• Proficiency with incident tracking systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, prioritization, and customer-relations skills.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor's degree in telecommunications.
• Telecommunications or IP networking certification, or progress toward certification.
• Understanding of gas pipeline monitoring.
• Experience in a 24x7x365 operating environment.
