Network Engineer

Location: Remote; salary range applies to candidates based in Washington State

Salary: $45–$50 USD per hour

What you will do

• Support day-to-day network engineering and operations across enterprise, data center, and lab environments.
• Execute network moves, adds, and changes (MAC), deployments, migrations, configuration changes, and infrastructure transitions.
• Perform maintenance, lifecycle refreshes, upgrades, and infrastructure improvement activities.
• Troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues and implement planned production changes and cutovers.
• Support monitoring, operational transition, post-change validation, and reliable operation of critical network services.
• Maintain technical documentation and collaborate remotely with engineering teams while escalating blockers proactively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional network engineering experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise Layer 2/Layer 3 network engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting network platform operations and executing production network changes.
• Experience with enterprise-scale, data center, or similarly complex network environments.
• Experience troubleshooting network infrastructure and performing maintenance, upgrades, migrations, or other infrastructure changes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow standardized deployment, change-management, and operational procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale enterprise, data center, or lab network infrastructure.
• Experience independently managing MAC requests, deployments, migrations, and cutovers.
• Experience with network lifecycle management, monitoring, operational transition, and post-change validation.
• Experience creating detailed network documentation and operational procedures.
• Strong communication, prioritization, troubleshooting, and proactive escalation skills.
