Lead Physician Assistant - Cardiac Surgery, Operating Room (Cardiac Surgery)

Salary: $141,440–$176,800 per year

What you will do

• Provide first- and second-assist support during adult and pediatric cardiac procedures, including CABG, valve surgery, aortic surgery, cardiac tumor resections, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.
• Perform conduit harvesting and bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including thoracentesis, tube thoracostomy, central lines, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, wound debridement, and intubation.
• Coordinate Physician Assistant schedules, vacation coverage, orientation, training, evaluations, credentialing, licensure, payroll reporting, and staff development.
• Lead protocol updates, educational programs, hospital committee participation, and student and resident education.
• Manage assigned budgets and personnel activities while supporting effective teamwork.
• Provide comprehensive perioperative, inpatient, emergency, outpatient, discharge, and follow-up care under the direction of attending surgeons.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a Physician Assistant program.
• Physician Assistant certification within one year of hire.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Five years of Physician Assistant experience.
• State and federal controlled-substances registration.
• Ability to care for critically ill adult and pediatric patients, supervise Physician Assistants, and coordinate complex treatment plans.
