Company

hirify.global supports biomedical research and provides health, welfare, retirement, time-off, recognition, and wellness benefits.

What you will do

  • Investigate how visual and motor systems, the brain, body, and behavior interact across tree shrews and rats.
  • Study motor experience, visual circuit development, proprioception, neural dynamics, and sensory substitution.
  • Record neuronal activity and bodily movements using multiphoton microscopy, electrophysiology, motion capture, and wireless embedded sensors.
  • Analyze large-scale brain and behavior datasets and contribute to ongoing and new research projects.
  • Participate in scientific publications, conferences, departmental activities, manuscript reviews, and practice talks.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to an inclusive and productive research environment.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in neuroscience, bioengineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Advanced experience coding and analyzing large brain and behavior datasets.
  • Experience or prior training in Python or MATLAB, electrophysiology, calcium imaging, microstimulation, or animal behavioral testing.
  • Experience with laboratory animal husbandry, surgical approaches, histology, fluorescence imaging, engineering, or signal processing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, learn quickly, solve problems, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and maintain high research integrity.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of laboratory work, including extended seated or standing periods, dexterous manipulation, and moving materials weighing several pounds.

Culture & Benefits

  • One-on-one mentorship with Dr. Sarvestani for academic or industry career development.
  • Opportunity to work with both rodent and tree shrew models of visuomotor behavior.
  • Exposure to advanced scientific research and professional development opportunities.
  • Authorship opportunities on independent and collaborative publications.
  • Opportunities to attend domestic conferences and departmental and HHMI retreats.
  • Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, and wellness programs.

Hiring process

  • Submit one PDF containing a cover letter, curriculum vitae with publications, and contact information for at least two references.
