Sr. Accountant, Family Office (AI)

Location: Houston, Texas; onsite office and corporate campus duties. Occasional travel to other business sites, including out of state, may be required for approximately 10% of the role.

What you will do

• Manage full-cycle accounting for designated family entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany entries, billing, financial schedules, and monthly and year-end reporting.
• Support monthly general ledger close activities, review account reasonableness, resolve reconciling items, and provide budget variance explanations.
• Maintain accurate work papers, source documentation, standard operating procedures, checklists, and financial control records.
• Assist with audits, tax schedules and forms, purchase card matters, system implementations, and cross-functional accounting projects.
• Identify and lead process improvements, including opportunities to apply AI and automation to accounting workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
• 3–6 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting software, internal controls, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and external auditing.
• Intermediate to advanced accounts payable, accounts receivable, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in Excel and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Spreadsheet Server, Power BI, and Concur.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.
