Cyber Systems Engineer Technical Specialist - ISSE (Cybersecurity)

Location: Westfields, Virginia, United States; onsite only with no remote or telework allowed. Customer core hours are 09:00–15:00, Monday–Friday.

Projected annual compensation: $133,901.35–$232,828.46.

What you will do

• Support cybersecurity, information assurance, vulnerability management, cyber defense, and RMF activities for a government customer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and system development teams to ensure assets meet RMF and network security standards.
• Develop technical requirements, identify project security requirements, and review new hardware and software for security risks.
• Participate in network design reviews, security testing, compliance audits, and information assurance readiness reviews.
• Provide analytical recommendations, status updates, findings, presentations, and security guidance to customer stakeholders and senior government officials.
• Guide system owners through Assessment and Authorization and RMF processes to support successful accreditation.

Requirements

• BS with 10–12 years of experience, MS with 8–10 years, or PhD with 5–7 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
• Ability to support customer core hours from 09:00 to 15:00, Monday–Friday.
• DoD 8570/8140 cybersecurity certification.
• Experience with Zero Trust, STIG compliance auditing, network engineering, security assessment tools, network security, and RMF.
• Experience with ACAS, eMASS, POA&M management, NIST RMF, and information assurance audit preparation.

Nice to have

• Cloud security and continuous monitoring experience.
• Systems engineering experience, including configuration management, requirements writing, architecture, and interfaces.
• Experience briefing senior customer personnel or supporting IC or DoD cybersecurity programs.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Cross Domain Solutions and the customer’s infrastructure and information assurance processes.
