Machine Learning Engineer (LLM)

Location: Remote in the United States; role associated with Seattle, United States

Base pay: $147,906–$193,100 for Zone C, $160,380–$209,385 for Zone B, or $178,200–$232,650 for Zone A, annually.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize machine-learning-powered search skills for Rovo's agentic architecture.
• Develop search capabilities covering query understanding, retrieval, ranking, and answer generation.
• Build and maintain production ML pipelines using reranking, embedding models, and reinforcement learning.
• Run end-to-end experiments, including offline evaluation and online A/B testing, to improve search quality metrics.
• Collaborate with product, platform, and applied science partners to deliver scalable ML solutions.
• Improve evaluation infrastructure and data tooling to accelerate iteration.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building machine learning systems at scale.
• Familiarity with search and information retrieval, NLP, or LLM-based systems.
• Ability to work independently, make technical decisions, and deliver impact in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.
