Associate Director, Environmental Health & Safety (AI)

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts, United States; onsite work required with a 70/30 in-office model. Applicants must qualify as U.S. persons under U.S. export control laws.

Salary: $142,500–$256,500 per year, with potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Develop, deploy, standardize, and sustain global EHS programs, standards, procedures, tools, training materials, and governance processes.
• Translate corporate EHS strategy, regulatory expectations, and business needs into practical site-level implementation plans.
• Provide onsite EHS support at the Norwood campus, including risk assessments, incident support, inspection readiness, and stakeholder coaching.
• Lead gap assessments, action planning, performance tracking, corrective actions, audits, inspections, and management reviews across multiple sites.
• Support EHS activities for management of change, capital projects, new processes, technology transfers, audit readiness, and operational risk reduction.
• Define and implement AI-enabled EHS use cases, workflows, metrics, knowledge-management tools, and decision-support solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, environmental science, engineering, industrial hygiene, life sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• Significant EHS experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, laboratory, life sciences, or another regulated technical environment.
• Experience implementing EHS programs across multiple sites, regions, or business units.
• Working knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, biosafety, hazardous materials, incident investigation, and related EHS disciplines.
• Knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Ability to work onsite in Norwood and qualify as a U.S. person under applicable export control requirements; periodic travel is required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, or NEBOSH.
• GxP, GMP, biopharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing experience.
• Experience implementing management systems, certifications, digital tools, data solutions, automation, or AI-enabled EHS workflows.
