Electrical and Controls Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support maintenance, process, and improvement activities that increase safety and production efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Develop electrical and control system specifications for manufacturing equipment.
• Create and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control documentation.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, manage project timelines, and communicate progress to management.
• Support site breakdowns, technical call-outs, and control system improvements to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in electrical controls or instrumentation engineering within manufacturing or process environments.
• Knowledge of PLC systems, including Rockwell Logix 5000, Logix 500, and RSView.
• Understanding of safety systems, SIL, safety PLCs, industrial drives, commissioning, ATEX, and machine safety standards.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, including experience with 4–20 mA loops and controllers.
• Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom, where the position is based. Familiarity with HAZOP, FMEA, Microsoft Office, and basic CAD software such as AutoCAD or EPlan.
