Lead Software Architect, Cloud & AI Modernization — CareDimensions-(Onsite) Overland Park, KS

Location: Onsite in Overland Park, Kansas; must live in or relocate to the Greater Kansas City metro area. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead application architecture guidance for CareDimensions products and engineering teams.
• Assess legacy and current-state systems and define practical modernization paths for scalability, maintainability, reliability, and cloud readiness.
• Partner with engineering teams on architecture decisions, design and code reviews, prototypes, and reference implementations.
• Guide AWS architecture across distributed systems, APIs, integrations, data flows, and secure cloud-enabled designs.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams on CI/CD, deployment patterns, monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational support.
• Identify and guide practical opportunities for AI, automation, analytics, and data-driven product capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background as a Software Architect, Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Senior Architect, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale application development, modernization, and legacy application evolution.
• Strong understanding of AWS, cloud-native patterns, distributed systems, APIs, microservices or modular architecture, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps.
• Experience with enterprise technologies such as Java, .NET, C#, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar ecosystems.
• Ability to influence engineering, product, business, and executive stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
• Must work onsite in Overland Park, Kansas and be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Healthcare technology, EHR, clinical workflow, human services, post-acute, care management, or regulated-industry experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, event-driven systems, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Exposure to AI/ML, LLMs, MLOps, responsible AI, or intelligent automation in enterprise software.
• Experience translating client or market needs into technical architecture with Product and Engineering.
