What you will do

• Develop Python web server components for commercial operation management.
• Develop dynamic JavaScript frontend components and web applications.
• Convert written and verbal specifications into performant, maintainable code with unit tests.
• Test and deploy applications to production.
• Participate in code reviews and communicate with clients and software users.

Requirements

• At least two years of professional experience developing Python web server software in a team.
• At least two years of professional experience developing dynamic frontend software in JavaScript.
• Proficiency with HTML and CSS, plus a basic understanding of relational databases and REST APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, information systems, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
• Basic knowledge of version control.
• Work location: Schenectady, New York, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Django and AngularJS.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux or another comparable Linux distribution.
• Experience with Mercurial or Git.
