What you will do

• Design, plan, and execute the generation of protein reagents for target structure determination.
• Develop construct design, molecular cloning, expression, and purification strategies with internal teams and CROs.
• Produce high-quality protein samples for X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM in collaboration with structural biologists.
• Develop and optimize purification protocols and reagents to improve protein purity, homogeneity, stability, and complex formation.
• Characterize protein quality using biochemical and biophysical methods and contribute structural biology insights into mechanisms of action.
• Manage multiple research projects, communicate findings, and troubleshoot experimental workflows.

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, or MD with relevant postdoctoral experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 3 years of molecular or structural biology experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of such experience.
• Expertise in recombinant protein expression, purification, and quality assessment for structural biology applications.
• Hands-on experience with membrane proteins, including GPCRs, and a strong understanding of protein stability, folding, homogeneity, and aggregation.
• Experience with mammalian, insect, and/or microbial expression systems and chromatography-based purification.
• Proficiency with biochemical and biophysical methods including SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, analytical SEC, SEC-MALS, DLS, SPR, and mass spectrometry.
• Strong communication, prioritization, collaboration, and project management skills.
