Associate Scientist, Protein Characterization (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Support formulation and characterization of biotherapeutic drug products across discovery and development programs.
• Perform protein analytical techniques to guide formulation and process optimization.
• Assess biotherapeutic stability under different formulation and process conditions.
• Support development candidate nomination and technology transfer activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across therapeutic areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Solid understanding of protein biotherapeutics, including stability and formulation challenges.
• Experience analyzing protein molecules using standard analytical or biophysical techniques.
• Ability to use or develop knowledge of techniques including DLS, SEC-MALS, batch MALS, circular dichroism, fluorescence, Amide I FTIR, DSC, and sub-visible particle analysis.
• Experience documenting experiments in an electronic lab notebook and managing multiple projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, culturally diverse environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated chromatography workstations such as AKTA FPLCs and multidimensional purification strategies.
• Scientific publications using relevant protein characterization techniques.
