TL;DR
Associate, Permitting (Venue Infrastructure): Securing and maintaining permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals for Olympic and Paralympic venues with an accent on compliance, construction administration, and agency coordination. Focus on tracking submissions and deadlines, monitoring regulatory changes, and supporting venue operations, construction, and facilities teams.

Location: Onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, California, United States; site visits may be required. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

Salary: $30.35–$35.00 per hour

LA28 is an independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee responsible for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

What you will do

  • Assist with obtaining and renewing permits, licenses, and approvals for venue construction, operations, and special events.
  • Maintain accurate permit records and track submissions, deadlines, renewals, and approvals.
  • Coordinate with city, county, and state agencies on building codes, environmental regulations, safety standards, and compliance.
  • Prepare permit status and compliance reports and presentations for management.
  • Collaborate with venue operations, construction, and facilities teams to identify permitting needs.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and respond to permit-related inquiries from internal teams and external authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in permit management, facilities, or construction administration.
  • Knowledge of local and state permitting requirements, building codes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational, project management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Downtown Los Angeles office and attend site visits in interior and exterior environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale venue, stadium, or event management projects.
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles municipal permitting processes.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
