Senior Accountant

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. The role is performed in an office and corporate campus environment, with up to 10% periodic travel. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

• Execute the monthly general ledger close and maintain the close schedule.
• Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries, make materiality decisions, and maintain supporting workpapers.
• Reconcile balance sheet and intercompany accounts, resolve reconciling items, and process intercompany billing and reallocations.
• Analyze actual results against budget, explain variances, and review monthly and year-end financial data for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Assist with audit schedules, audit footnotes, tax schedules, tax forms, and annual business planning.
• Coordinate with internal departments, resolve accounting questions, support Oracle GL administration, and participate in process-improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
• 5–7 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid in-state driver's license required.
• Active CPA certification or progress toward certification is preferred; CPA certification is required.
• Advanced capabilities in critical thinking, enterprise resource planning, technical accounting, tax preparation, ledger and billing balancing, and standard accounting practices.
• Developing awareness of internal auditing and advanced knowledge of ethical standards and conduct.
