Accountant (Accounting)

Location: Hybrid in Collierville, Tennessee, United States; candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus and work onsite several times per week.

What you will do

• Support the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger.
• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual entries, and fixed asset transactions.
• Review leases and contracts, budgets, revenue, and expenses, and prepare related internal reporting.
• Validate assigned general ledger balances in compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Test and document internal control risks in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Coordinate with business partners and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related quantitative discipline, with relevant experience accepted as an alternative.
• At least two years of accounting experience in financial reporting within a public accounting firm or large corporate environment.
• Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of GAAP standards.
• Proficiency with business software, spreadsheet applications, and mainframe or web-based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Alteryx experience or proficiency.
• Accounting degree.
