Automation Engineer

What you will do

• Provide commercial leadership and collaborate with Rockwell Automation and other automation manufacturing partners.
• Support territory business development and work with the sales team to close automation sales opportunities.
• Create bills of materials for quoting, process orders, and support customers with inside sales.
• Recommend automation product solutions for customer applications, projects, and other pre-sales activities.
• Provide post-sale technical and commercial support for customer questions and issues.
• Participate in annual planning with automation partners and support sales-team competency development.

Requirements

• At least two years of hands-on electrical and mechanical experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, safety systems, motion control, VFDs, and other automation equipment.
• Understanding of manufacturing machinery, processes, networks, and analytics.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to design control systems and equipment, solve problems, collaborate across functions, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, and fabrication environments and to stand, walk, climb stairs, and operate a vehicle.

Nice to have

• More than five years of industrial distribution experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technology degree or certificate, or equivalent training and experience.
