Senior Legal Director, Cyber & Data Risk (Cybersecurity)

Location: New Brunswick, Raritan, or Titusville, New Jersey, or Washington, D.C., United States

Base pay: $178,000–$307,050 per year

What you will do

• Serve as principal legal advisor to the CISO, Information Security & Risk Management leadership, and enterprise technology executives.
• Advise on cybersecurity, data, AI, cloud, enterprise platforms, critical infrastructure, and technology risk.
• Develop governance frameworks, policies, and controls aligned with global legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead legal support for significant cybersecurity incidents, investigations, crisis response, regulatory disclosures, and law-enforcement interactions.
• Advise on data protection, information governance, cross-border data flows, and enterprise information protection.
• Draft and negotiate cybersecurity and product-security provisions in technology agreements, including those related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to practice law in good standing in at least one United States jurisdiction.
• At least 12 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial cybersecurity legal experience.
• Experience advising senior executives and leading legal support during significant cybersecurity incidents, investigations, regulatory inquiries, or crises.
• Deep knowledge of global cybersecurity, data protection, critical infrastructure, technology, and AI governance regulations.
• Experience with cybersecurity and technology contracts, enterprise governance programs, and technology-related mergers and acquisitions.
• Strong leadership, people management, executive communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
