Outreach Representative (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Serve as a liaison between members, the health plan, and state or federal regulators.
• Provide telephonic support, assess member needs, and assist with appointment scheduling.
• Educate members about preventive health services and their rights and responsibilities.
• Recruit, assess, and enroll eligible members in disease management programs.
• Coordinate access to preventive health services with members, providers, and community agencies.
• Support the grievance and appeals process, track contacts, and contribute to effective outreach programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in community outreach or customer service.
• Strong active listening, communication, empathy, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team.
• Ability to work with diverse members and understand healthcare access barriers such as transportation, childcare, financial challenges, and distrust of the healthcare system.
• Physical work site is required; travel requirement is 0%–25%.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree.
• Telephonic or scheduling experience.
• Experience supporting appeals and grievances.
• Familiarity with healthcare, insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare populations.
