TL;DR
Fabricator (Aerospace Manufacturing): Preparing and assembling piping, tubing, flex hoses, and spiral wrap into vacuum-jacketed pipes and finished hose products with an accent on precision cutting, material kitting, and quality control. Focus on interpreting engineering drawings and BOMs, performing close-tolerance fabrication and testing, and maintaining accurate production and inventory records.

What you will do

  • Cut, drill, cope, roll, trim, and adjust piping, tubing, flex hoses, and spiral wrap for fabrication and welding.
  • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, table saws, band saws, hydraulic presses, and other cutting equipment.
  • Read engineering drawings, bills of material, diagrams, and routing sheets to ensure dimensionally correct cuts and proper material selection.
  • Kit, inspect, transfer, and deliver materials and parts for production orders, while maintaining inventory records in the computer system.
  • Assemble parts, perform specified testing, document test results, and support packaging and shipment preparation.
  • Maintain safety, quality, 5S, Operational Excellence, and process-improvement standards.

Requirements

  • High school education.
  • Experience using hand, pneumatic, and cutting tools, including chop saws, circular saws, band saws, or cutting wheels.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, verbal and written instructions, diagrams, and routing sheets.
  • Ability to use rulers, measuring tapes, calipers, micrometers, and shop mathematics.
  • Ability to work independently with sustained physical, manual, mental, and visual dexterity while handling light to medium-weight materials.
  • Ability to detect product defects and exercise judgment regarding fit, repair capability, and quality.

Nice to have

  • Waterjet machining experience.
  • Previous welding experience or experience supporting welding functions.
