Supervisor, Gas Transmission & Distribution

Location: Vacaville, California; onsite. The role requires travel at least 50% of the time using a personal vehicle, occasional overnight stays, on-call rotation, and emergency response coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you will do

• Oversee safe and compliant receiving, screening, consolidating, sampling, and characterization of dry and wet surplus excavated materials.
• Manage operations across multiple yards and coordinate construction materials, owned assets, rental assets, internal crews, and contractors.
• Lead union-represented employees, facilitate operating reviews, team meetings, tailboards, and training.
• Drive environmental compliance, monitor guidance documents, maintain documentation, and prepare operational reports.
• Deliver work within scope, schedule, and cost expectations while applying LEAN principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Support emergency response operations and develop action plans for improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of experience in the utility industry.
• California Class C driver's license.
• Ability to travel at least 50% of the time and work an on-call rotation.
• Ability to pass federally mandated pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to lead field and union-represented employees.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Environmental studies, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and experience with waste sampling, characterization, transportation, and disposal.
• Experience in highly regulated environments, customer service, stakeholder engagement, or union workforce leadership.
