Associate Director - Software Engineering - Platforms and Front-End (Angular)

Location: Baltimore, MD, United States

Target base salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, plus performance-based compensation.

hirify.global is a financial services company hiring an engineering leader for its platforms and front-end ecosystem.

What you will do

• Lead and support multiple engineering teams and managers, establishing ownership, accountability, and consistent execution.
• Define technical and delivery strategies aligned with enterprise architecture, modernization goals, and business priorities.
• Partner with Product, UX, Architecture, Security, Compliance, and other stakeholders to align roadmaps and delivery expectations.
• Oversee planning, execution, release management, production stability, platform upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle standards.
• Remove technical and business obstacles, clarify ambiguous requests, and guide teams through trade-offs and organizational change.
• Conduct performance reviews, mentor leaders and engineers, and promote observability, operational excellence, and responsible use of AI-powered development tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of overall engineering experience, including at least three years of progressive responsibility on software development teams.
• Experience delivering and supporting both web and mobile applications through successful releases and ongoing maintenance.
• Experience as a lead developer, team lead, or people leader organizing, developing, and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices, cloud-native technologies, AWS, and JavaScript-based frameworks; Angular experience is preferred.
