Government R&D Project Manager

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States; at least four days per week at the hirify.global Center. Travel may include up to 15% domestic and international travel.

Compensation: $188,251–$230,084 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional teams developing competitive R&D funding proposals and programs of strategic importance.
• Identify and evaluate external funding opportunities aligned with research laboratory, division, and business priorities.
• Translate technical project concepts into white papers, concept papers, technical volumes, and other proposal materials.
• Lead early-stage proposal development with the Government R&D Contracts team and ensure submissions meet requirements and deadlines.
• Build relationships with U.S. government research agencies, national laboratories, universities, R&D institutes, and scientific organizations.
• Coordinate government engagement, communication plans, stakeholder alignment, technology trend monitoring, and external technical representation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher, completed and verified before starting.
• At least eight combined years of experience developing and commercializing new technologies or products in private, public, government, or military environments.
• At least two years of project leadership or program management experience within divisions or corporate laboratories.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and evaluate complex technical and intellectual property issues.
• Strong technical writing, editing, communication, analytical, and proposal-development skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a science or engineering discipline.
• Eight years of R&D experience.
• Experience working with government agencies, national laboratories, or similar institutions.
• Understanding of hirify.global technologies and established networks within the hirify.global technical community.
