Instrumentation & Electrical Technician (DCS)

Location: Port Arthur, Texas, with occasional maintenance support at the Westlake, Louisiana site for less than 10% of the time. This is an onsite, full-time, safety-sensitive position.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment at the Port Arthur facility.
• Provide occasional maintenance support to the Westlake site.
• Troubleshoot pressure, temperature, level, flow, water analytical, CEMS, continuous analyzer, solenoid, and switch equipment.
• Repair analog and discrete instrument loops and troubleshoot control valves.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Distributed Control System equipment, 480 VAC three-phase motor controls, and 120 VAC control circuits.
• Read technical drawings and use calibration equipment and SAP to document and retrieve maintenance data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Trade or technical degree, or a related apprenticeship.
• Four years of electromechanical or instrumentation and electrical experience.
• Experience with instrumentation and electrical equipment fabrication, wiring, and hook-up.
• Strong troubleshooting, fault isolation, documentation, teamwork, and safety skills.
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in an on-call schedule.

Nice to have

• Gas turbine experience.
• Related military experience, such as Aviation Electrician, Electronics Technician, or Gas Turbine Technician.
• SkillsUSA membership and demonstrated PDP leadership competencies for entry-level candidates.
