Plant Finance Lead (Biotech)

Location: Oxford, England; the role supports manufacturing operations in Harwell, UK, Laval, Canada, and an external Drug Product CMO. hirify.global follows a 70/30 work model with 70% in-office collaboration.

What you will do

• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning across manufacturing sites and the external CMO.
• Deliver monthly financial analysis, variance reporting, KPIs, and operational insights to site and Corporate Finance leadership.
• Oversee standard costing, product costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variance analysis, and financial close activities.
• Evaluate capital investment proposals and process improvement initiatives through business cases, NPV, ROI, payback, and project-spend analysis.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehouse teams, and the external CMO to improve cost reduction, inventory accuracy, working capital, and manufacturing performance.
• Maintain SOX and internal controls, support audits, remediate findings, and standardize finance processes across sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including significant manufacturing finance experience.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing operations.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, presentation, and project leadership skills.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
