Lead AI Architect

Location: Madrid, Spain

Salary: €60,000–€100,000 gross annual base salary, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available cloud-native platforms on Azure.
• Define system architectures, technical specifications, models, and design documentation.
• Guide engineering teams on architecture decisions, best practices, innovation, and engineering standards.
• Present architectural roadmaps to product and business stakeholders and mentor engineers.
• Contribute hands-on to development, troubleshooting, platform evolution, and implementation.
• Lead proofs of concept involving AI/ML, data engineering, and cloud services while shaping the long-term Data & AI platform strategy.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing enterprise-grade Azure solutions, including AKS, networking, CDN, and WAF.
• Experience with multi-tenant, high-availability SaaS platforms and distributed systems.
• Strong system design experience with Java and Spring MVC.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles, authentication, network security, REST, SOAP, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud automation, and resilient infrastructure.
• Experience coaching multicultural engineering teams and producing technical architecture documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and modern data lakehouse architecture.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, OCR, NLP, and other AI components.
• Experience with SonarQube, Invicti, Aqua, Maven, or Gradle.
• Additional programming experience with Python, .NET, or ideally Go.
