Quality Engineer II (Manufacturing)

Location: East Providence, Rhode Island, United States; mixed office, laboratory, and manufacturing environment with approximately 5% travel.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain quality management, manufacturing, and administrative processes across the enterprise.
• Lead corrective action activities, perform root cause analysis, and develop preventive actions for recurring customer and manufacturing issues.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, statistical tools, and process optimization methods.
• Develop measurement system plans, fixtures, documentation, and training for product and process evaluation.
• Act as a lead auditor for ISO 9001:2015 processes and host external, agency, and customer audits.
• Support manufacturing sites, supplier quality, change management, product qualification, and new product development reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–3 years of quality assurance experience.
• Experience in an ISO 9000 manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, 8D, PDCA, and DMAIC.
• Basic understanding or training in probability and statistics, industrial statistics, QA tools, or design of experiments.
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and documentation in mechanical design.

Nice to have

• Experience with injection molding or machined-part equipment and processes.
• Knowledge of advanced Lean methods such as value stream mapping, rapid improvement events, 6S, and continuous flow.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with Minitab.
